Crown Green Bowling Club
Membership
Club membership is £54 a year in 2025. Great value as you can play as often as you like with no additional green fees.

Our season usually starts in late March and ends at the end of September depending on the weather.

​We welcome experienced bowlers who would like to join the club as well as those who have never bowled before. If you have bowled before you will be offered up to four free sessions (with no obligation) using our club crown green bowls if you don’t have your own. If you would like to do this please Contact Us first so we can expect you.
Taster Sessions
During the season we also run Taster Sessions for people who have never bowled before.
These will be held from 11.00am – 12.30pm on the following dates:
Friday 25 April
Friday 30 May
Friday 27 June
Friday 25 July
Friday 29 August
No previous experience is necessary and we will provide all the equipment needed, but please see the details of dress code below. Please Contact Us if you would like to book a taster session.
Once you have joined us as a club member, you may wish to purchase your own bowls immediately, but we would advise you first to try with bowls of different weights. We can provide you with coaching sessions to help you improve your game. Sessions are run by experienced members of the club. If you have a competitive nature, you could sign-up to play in the friendly matches that we arrange against other clubs. We also run our own internal club competitions. There are several categories including for ladies, members over 80 and those members who have not previously won a competition.
Visitors
Members may bring a visitor at £1.00 per visit.
Dress Code
There are no rules for clothing while playing, except that all players must wear flat shoes or trainers to protect our crown green at all times.
Please note that players are not allowed to wear flip flops or open toe shoes.
